Polymer composites have been found to have excellent friction and wear performance after being modified with functional fillers and reinforcements. This advantage makes them flexible in many industrial applications. The present article elaborates the friction and wear properties of polymer composites concisely, including the tribological modification of polymeric materials, wear mechanisms of fiber reinforced polymer composites and friction and wear properties of polymeric nanocomposites.
